This Acceptable Use Policy forms part of the Terms of Service between Orata Ltd (trading as REI Vantage) and each customer. It applies to the customer, its Users, and any automation or AI assistant acting through its instance. Words with capital letters have the meanings given in the Terms.
Rules for texts, calls, voicemail and AI agents are in the Messaging and Calling Policy, which also forms part of this policy.
1. Use the Service lawfully
You must not use the Service to break any law or regulation, or to help anyone else do so. That includes consumer protection, telemarketing, privacy, data protection, anti-discrimination, real estate licensing, export control and sanctions laws.
2. Fair housing and discrimination
You must not use the Service, Customer Data or Data Services to target, exclude, steer or treat people differently because of a characteristic protected by the US Fair Housing Act or similar state or local law. Protected characteristics include race, colour, religion, sex, national origin, familial status and disability. You must not build lists, filters, scores or messages that act as a proxy for those characteristics.
3. Prohibited conduct
You must not use the Service to:
- harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate or abuse anyone, or contact a person after they have asked you to stop;
- make false, misleading or deceptive statements, including misrepresenting who you are, that you are a government body, lender or attorney, or the nature of an offer;
- defraud anyone, including through equity-stripping, foreclosure-rescue or deed-theft schemes, or any scheme prohibited by state foreclosure-consultant or home-equity laws;
- impersonate any person or business, or hide or falsify caller ID or sender identity;
- act as a real estate broker or agent, or collect fees for brokerage services, without the licence that the law requires;
- determine anyone's eligibility for credit, insurance, employment or housing, or any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act;
- collect or infer sensitive data such as health, financial account or government ID numbers, except where the law permits and you have a lawful basis;
- send content that is sexually explicit, hateful, or promotes violence or illegal goods or services; or
- send content that falls into categories carriers restrict, including cannabis, firearms, tobacco, alcohol, gambling and high-risk lending, unless the law and your carrier registration permit it.
4. Data you bring into the Service
You must have the right to every list and record you upload or import. You must not upload data that was scraped, stolen or obtained in breach of a website's terms or a data provider's licence. You must not use the Service to resell data or provide it to anyone outside your business.
5. Security and integrity
You must not:
- access or attempt to access any system, account or data you are not authorised to access, or probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service without our written permission;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service, Orata's data gateway or other customers, including by overloading them with automated requests;
- upload malware or any code designed to cause harm;
- share credentials, API keys or OAuth tokens outside your business, or let anyone use a User account other than the person it was issued to; or
- circumvent usage limits, credit metering, confirmation steps or other technical controls.
6. AI assistants and automation
You are responsible for every action an automation or a connected AI assistant takes through your instance. You must not instruct, configure or allow an AI assistant to:
- bypass a confirmation step, suppression list or Do Not Call check;
- impersonate a human where the law requires disclosure that the contact is automated; or
- carry out any activity this policy or the Messaging and Calling Policy prohibits.
7. Reporting and enforcement
If you become aware of a breach of this policy, tell us at [email protected]. We may investigate suspected breaches. Where necessary to protect people, carriers or the Service, we may also suspend or end Support, Updates, Data Services or your licence under the Terms. We may report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities, carriers or Third-Party Providers. If they ask us for information about your use of the Service, you must cooperate.
